When the cold cherry blossoms first bloom, their flowers are light pink and white, then turn pink, and finally become deep red. Each flower bud contains 3-4 flowers, and the buds are very close to each other. When they all bloom together, the whole branch is covered with soft and charming pink flowers.

Most cherry blossom viewing spots in northern Taiwan start with the cherry blossoms on Pingjing Street in Yangming Mountain. Between January and February each year, you can turn left onto Zushan Road, Section 3, No. 71 from the Zhishan area of Shilin, and along the way you can enjoy the blooming of the mountain cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are located within the quiet alleys of Yangming Mountain. Within the Pingdeng area, there are many leisure and tourism farms, offering coffee and pastries. You can enjoy farm produce and eat farm-style dishes, making it a great place for leisure.

The types of cherry blossoms in Yangming Mountain include: Hikariyozakura (mountain cherry blossom), Double Hikariyozakura (Yaezakura), Yoshino cherry blossom, Shouwa cherry blossom, and Oshima cherry blossom.
