Hengshan is the highest peak of the Bagua Range and one of Taiwan’s “Little 100 Peaks.” The trail is about 1.4 km long, with both ends joining County Road 139B; you can start directly opposite the finish of the Changqing Bike Trail Challenge Route (Qiqianyi Trail). The entire line has a gentle gradient; the summit has benches and a viewpoint. From the top the view opens wide—you may see eagles soaring overhead—and looking down onto the Bagua Plateau’s farmland is a highlight of the hike. Nearby are legally operated campgrounds, making it ideal for outdoor recreation.
