After the railway station was built in 1939, after the Tamsui Line was phased out in 1988, the old platform was also demolished in 1990. The former railway route between Shihpi, Kuandu, Beitou, and Tamsui was the main transportation for students and commuters at that time, and has now been replaced by the metro.
The broad definition of the After Railway Station refers to the area outside the Taichung Road exit of the former Taipei Station, namely the Chengde Road, Zhengzhou Street, Huayin Street, and Taichung Road areas. This area has always been a commercial street for the distribution of various handicraft goods, including beauty accessories, leather goods and clothing, preserved fruits and dry goods, bottles and jars, handicrafts, and wholesale toys, offering everything you need. In recent years, with the rise of beauty trends, teacher Niu'er from the popular variety show "Woman, I'm the Best" often mentions this place, especially the chemical ingredients for DIY cosmetics and the cute, special-shaped bottles and jars, which are all available here. From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., it is perfectly fine to come and buy accessory materials after work. With a wide variety of goods, it has become a place for people to find bargains and treasure hunt in many people's minds.
