Located on Jinshan Xia Street, the Cihu Gong Temple has a history of two hundred years and is the largest temple in Jinshan. It mainly enshrines the Gold Faced Mazu and is the center of local faith. The locals call it the "Grand Temple". The intricate carvings on the temple's foundation, roof frame, roof, and body are all worth close appreciation. The octagonal dragon pillars in the main hall are a masterpiece of the Tongzhi era in the Qing dynasty and are quite rare.
The Mazu enshrined in Cihu Gong is divided into Da Ma (Big Mazu) and Er Ma (Second Mazu). Er Ma had drifted at sea and was discovered on the coast of Yezi Gulf. Since the statue was only eight inches tall, the believers raised funds to carve a larger Mazu statue to match Da Ma's size, and the eight-inch Er Ma was hidden inside, which is the origin of "Ma Zhong Ma" (Mother inside Mother).
Every year on the 16th day of the fourth lunar month, Er Ma is paraded from Jinshan to Yehliu to "return home" and visit, which has become a unique and important celebration in Jinshan, Shimen, and Wanli.
