Overlooking the Reservoir Between Mountains and the Sea. Located on the eastern side of Qiugui Mountain, Qiugui Reservoir was constructed along the mountain valley and serves as one of the key water supply stations in the western area of the island. Near Qiugui Reservoir, two pavilions have been built—one leaning against the mountain and the other constructed alongside the sea, offering a view of the beautiful reservoir landscape named "Qiugui Pavilion."
Qiugui Pavilion faces Famao Port across the sea, with the bay's beauty clearly within sight. In summer, the gentle sea breeze makes this an ideal place for visitors to relax and enjoy the view. Following the reservoir's vehicle road inland, after navigating a narrow passage, travelers enter the western coastal paradise of Nan'gan Island—Furen Village.
Furen Village—An Enchanted Eden
Traveling from Qiugui Reservoir to Furen Village in Matsu, one walks along winding village paths, experiencing the rustic charm and greenery of Furen Village. A few households blend into the lush foliage. Looking down from a high vantage point, the vast blue sea unfolds below. The origin of the village's name stems from a tale: In ancient times, local men sustained themselves through fishing, leaving women and children to reside in the village. When pirates once landed and robbed homes onshore, the villagers fiercely repelled the pirates, earning the name "Furen Village."
