The Danao Suspension Bridge is located on the Longtou Mountain between Wan Shan and Danao. The bridge is 232 meters long and 103 meters high, spanning across the Zhuokou Stream. It is reputed to be the highest suspension bridge in Southeast Asia.
During the Japanese rule, due to the aggressive policy of governing the aboriginals, a fierce conflict arose. The Danao tribe, located deep in the mountains, remained unconquered. The Japanese proposed a plan to build a suspension bridge for transporting food under the name of "peace and war". However, the real intention was to connect the road to carry out the policy of governing the aboriginals.
The bridge holds great significance for the residents of Danao. It is a bridge of emotions where people bid farewell to their loved ones, loved ones, and friends.
To view the Longtou Mountain from another perspective on the suspension bridge, visitors must follow the direction signs on the Danao Suspension Bridge. By doing so, they can walk onto the bridge and enjoy the panoramic view between Longtou and Longji.
The bridge was rebuilt in 1998, and it retains historical significance. It is worth visiting.
The recommended stay time is about 1.5 hours. The Danao Suspension Bridge has a limited capacity of 100 people. All motor vehicles are strictly prohibited from crossing the bridge. Cars can be parked near the bridge at the Wan Shan end.
