台北市萬華區貴陽街2段218號
General Zhang Gun of Sun Quan from the Three Kingdoms period had achieved remarkable governance in Quanzhou's Hui'an area. After his death, the local people built the Qingshan Temple to worship him, and he was respectfully called the Qingshan King or the Ling'an尊 King. The Qingshan King has always been believed to possess the power to eliminate plagues, to administer justice, and to reward or punish good and evil. The deities that are offered sacrifices along with the Qingshan King include the Eight Officials, the Iron Chain General, and the Lock General, among others. The Qingshan Temple in Wanhua has a history of more than a hundred years, and it is a three-part temple built with a combination of wood and stone. It has undergone several renovations and is quite exquisite, such as the octagonal ceiling with intricate patterns, which is quite impressive. The materials used in the renovation also have many historical references, such as the stone pillars and stone stacks in the front hall, which were made from stones left behind by the Yuan Mountain Shrine. In addition, the statue of the Qingshan King has sharp and piercing eyes; when observing it from different angles, one can feel different expressions. Locals can come here to personally experience this. The 23rd day of the tenth lunar month is the birthday of the Qingshan King. According to legend, the Qingshan King will lead his generals to tour the streets and alleys of Wanhua two days before, praying for the safety of the people in the Wanhua area. On the 22nd, the night-time procession of the King's palanquin is very lively, with many performance activities, such as the Eight Generals, drum teams, and music bands. Families set up incense altars and offerings along the roadside. This is known as the "Wanhua Grand Worship," and it is one of the three major temple festivals in Taipei City, along with the Xiahai Chenghuang Temple's City God Festival in Dadaocheng and the Baosheng Da Di's parade.
