Xin Zu Palace is a temple ordered and funded by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. In the 52nd year of the Qing Qianlong era (1787), General Jiayingong Fu Kang'an led more than 100,000 elite troops up to Ludong Port, quelling the Lin Shuangwen uprising. Although it was attributed to the valiant efforts of the troop, it was also said to have been aided by divine help. As such, funds were allocated to initiate the temple's construction. The foundation was laid and beams erected that December, and the construction was completed the following June. A statue of the Queen of Heaven was then brought into the temple for worship, hence the temple is colloquially known as "Xin Gong".
