The National Public Information Library (NPICL), a national-level public library and digital library, not only collects, organizes, and preserves various books and digital resources, promotes reading, and provides information services, but also takes on the task of guiding public libraries at all levels across the country. The main library is located on 5 Rights South Road, Taichung, and was completed and opened in 2012. It has three branches:黎明, 精武, and 中興. The main library is a five-story above-ground and two-story below-ground building, covering an area of 2.164 hectares, with a total floor area of approximately 41,797 square meters. It is roughly divided into reader service areas, meeting and learning areas, public service areas, and administrative support areas. The exterior of the library features a streamlined river image, symbolizing the flow of infinite knowledge. The interior space is designed with an outside-in concept, incorporating outdoor window views from different floors into the interior design and furniture, creating a spacious, bright, and modern indoor space. Additionally, the library has designated areas for different age groups, such as children, teenagers, and the elderly. The library also combines new technologies like gesture sensing, augmented reality, RFID, and 3D movies to plan highly interactive and engaging experience devices, making it a great place for people to read, relax, and learn.
