Once the ancient link between Xiangshan Village in Tianzhong Township and Sanlun Village in Mingjian Township, this trail was used by locals to transport and trade daily necessities. Later it became a hiking route connecting Tianzhong, Changhua, with Mingjian, Nantou; its total length is about 0.7 km. The front section of the wooden walkway is carpeted with fallen leaves that make footing slippery, and the planks and steps are so deteriorated they no longer serve their purpose; hikers must pull themselves up the existing rope along the rock face. After the steep slope the remaining steps are still usable, and there are a pavilion and an interpretation board. With an average uphill gradient of 30 % and rope-assisted climbing, the trail is suited only to experienced hikers.
