Tiger Head Mountain lies to the northwest of Ruifeng and is an extension of the Tandah Mountain towards the east, with an elevation of 1,747 meters. The summit features a massive rock resembling a tiger perched atop the mountain head, hence its name. The industrial road leads upwards, offering expansive views from a high vantage point of the longitudinal valley's scenic landscape between the Central Range and Coastal Range. Tiger Head Mountain is situated at the southernmost end of the Coastal Range. Its surrounding strata are composed of the Liji Formation. Thus, Tiger Head Mountain is an xenolith embedded within the mixed Liji Formation, made up of gabbro. In recent years, as there are almost no hunters entering this area for hunting, the few narrow trails within the mountain have entirely fallen into disrepair, significantly increasing the difficulty of reaching the summit. According to elderly locals of Ruifeng, during the Japanese occupation, the Japanese feared the "mountain tiger" of Tiger Head Mountain would manifest mischief (due to its geomantic energy) and incite uprisings among Taiwanese people. To pacify it, they specifically used thick iron chains to bind the tiger's neck, subduing the summit's spiritual aura to prevent disturbances. Later, hikers who had summited verified this account. Currently, it is known that two peaks are chained: the Big Tiger Head Mountain (elevation 1,745 meters), and the Small Tiger Head Mountain (Jiabu South Mountain, over 600 meters high).
