Dakeng Scenic Area ~ Mountain Trail Guide
Dakeng Scenic Area is an important recreational space for the spiritual tranquility of Taichung citizens, a place for hikers to exercise and connect with nature, and one of the most popular tourist attractions in central Taiwan. On ordinary days or holidays, it is common to see groups of friends and families exploring the area together, making it a shared backyard for the people of Taichung. The most distinctive feature of the area is its 14 mountain trails. Trails 1 to 8 were opened in the early 1970s, built according to the natural terrain of Dakeng Mountain and its streams, with the highest elevation being 859 meters at Touziyan Mountain. Trail 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was completed in November 2013.
Trail 2
Length: Approximately 1.2 kilometers, suitable for experienced hikers who enjoy challenges.
Trailhead: 2nd Parking Lot, accessible by turning right onto Qingxia Lane from Dongshan Road and continuing for about 5 kilometers.
Features: This trail has two wooden plank paths, both with a high difficulty level, known as "good man slopes," which are nearly 60 degrees steep and pose a significant challenge for climbers.
