The Jinmen has three ancient towers, among which the most eye-catching is Maoshan Tower. Maoshan Tower is located at the southwest corner of Jinmen Island, near Shuitou Wharf. From the observation platform of Maoshan Tower, you can not only see the entire view of Shuitou settlement, but also see the Jinmen city area, Hufeng Port, and the isolated island Jian Gong Yu in the distance. At dusk, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sunset at the mouth of Wujiang Creek. Standing on the tower and looking around, you will feel the nostalgic feelings of the past. Wentai Tower, Reflection Tower, and Maoshan Tower, all three towers were built by Zhou Dexing, the Jiangxia Marquis during the Ming Dynasty, when he was in charge of the defense of Jinmen during the Hongwu period. He assessed the situation and built cities and strongholds all over the place, serving as navigation landmarks. Maoshan Tower has six stories, with a rock base at the bottom, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, with a gourd-shaped top, built with solid granite in a hexagonal shape. Because the tower is located on a high ground, it is considered an important landmark of Shuitou. The road leading to Maoshan Tower is very beautifully designed, with stairs and small bridges. At the entrance of the mountain, there is a stone mural showing the map of the "Jinmen Thousand Household Office during the Ming Dynasty," allowing you to see the prosperity of the old Jinmen city, the imagery of the entrance to Maoshan Tower, and also to the seashore to enjoy the beautiful sand beach scenery of Jinmen. It's guaranteed to be a rewarding trip.
