The Dongwei Stone Sculpture Park is located north of the Dongwei Reservoir, on the southeastern side of the intertidal zone. From its northern end, one can overlook Sihwei and Penghu Bay. Most of Penghu's terrain consists of basaltic tablelands, which abound in raw materials for stone carving, nurturing many stone sculptors. There are four major stone sculpture artworks within the Dongwei Stone Sculpture Park. Sea Turtle in the Ocean: Symbolizing long life, it also aims to raise public awareness of green sea turtle ecological conservation. African Marigold: Known for its extraordinary resilience, it is Penghu's county flower, symbolizing Penghu residents' indomitable perseverance. Storm Petrel and Basalt: The sculpture embodies the grandeur of basalt formations. Penghu is a vital ecological zone for seabirds, and through this artwork, visitors can understand storm petrels' nesting and egg-laying behaviors. Soaring Towards Hope: Inspired by dolphins' intelligence and vitality, the sculpture depicts a dolphin chasing the pearl of the sea, symbolizing Penghu's promising development prospects.
