The Fengjia National Forest Recreation Area is located in Baoshan Village, Taoyuan District, with an area of 770 hectares and an elevation of 1500 to 1804 meters. It boasts a rich alpine forest landscape with a variety of plants such as maple, cedar, cherry, plum, and two-leaf pine. The area changes with the seasons, offering diverse and stunning scenery that leaves visitors mesmerized. It is one of the best-preserved natural broadleaf forests in Taiwan. The average annual temperature is around 17°C, with a small temperature difference and a cool climate, making it an ideal summer retreat known as "Little Xikou in Southern Taiwan." Apart from towering trees, the area also features a wide variety of flowers that bloom in different seasons. The recreation area has several trails for visitors to choose from based on their physical abilities, and there are observation decks where one can gaze at Yushan, Daguangshan, Beidawushan, and Beinan Main Mountain. Fengjia is not only perfect for activities like forest bathing, hiking, sightseeing, and observing insects and birds but also serves as an excellent venue for natural and ecological education. A visit of about 3 hours is recommended. Large buses of classes A and B are prohibited from entering the area, and visitors need to apply on the official website before entering.
