What is Yilu? "The word 'one' (一) resembles a long, thin bamboo charcoal, and represents our commitment to using the finest ingredients to become the top yakitori restaurant. 'Lu' (鷺) is the white heron, the most representative bird of Taiwan's countryside. Just as the white heron symbolizes purity and elegance, it also represents our love for the beautiful mountains and rivers of Taiwan. The name 'Yilu' can also be interpreted as 'Yilu' (一路), meaning 'along the way.' In the literal sense, it represents the fact that we are all partners, family, and friends who share the same ideals and beliefs. We also hope that customers who come from far away and are strangers to each other can consider Yilu as their home from the moment they step into the restaurant, and gradually become 'along the way.' Most importantly, we hope that every guest who comes to dine at Yilu can re-experience the genuine hospitality and modest enthusiasm that people in Taiwan naturally possess. Thus, the Yilu brand was born. Yilu's Commitment Yilu has gone to great lengths, traveling all over Taiwan, to find the best local materials. We not only use premium bamboo charcoal, the healthiest free-range chickens from Miaoli raised on a natural vegetarian diet, handcrafted original beer from Yilan, and various organic vegetables grown by farmers in southern Taiwan, but also do all this to allow our guests to not only enjoy the delicious food, but also to feel the blessings of this land of Taiwan, and to taste the farmers' perseverance and pride. Yilu's Vision The soul of the restaurant lies in 'warmth.' By 'warmth,' we mean not only the temperature of the food on the table, but also the extent of our care for each guest! 'It's been a long time since I last had a home-cooked meal.' This is what Yilu hopes for. We hope that every guest who comes to Yilu can feel comfortable and relaxed, enjoy the delicious food, and have a good drink.
