Bao Yue Temple, also known as Nan An, was built during the Ming Dynasty, originally located near the Xujiang Xiaowo stone carvings and the Wentai Bao Tower, inside the current Jinmen Liquor Factory's wall. The temple enshrines the statue of Guanyin and Han. There is a Bao Yue Spring in front of the temple, with excellent water quality. In the 42nd year of the Republic of China, the Jinmen Liquor Factory was established. To obtain the water source for brewing liquor, the Bao Yue Temple was demolished. The liquor produced afterwards became the famous Jinmen Kaoliang liquor.
