Yangdi is one of the oldest settlements in Jinmen. The ancestral founder Chen Da was the tenth-generation descendant of Chen Zheng. In the third year of Qianhua of the Later Liang Dynasty (913 AD), when Wang Shen zhi became king in Fujian, he conferred on Chen Da the title of Chengshi Lang, and ordered him to garrison the Tong'an Wuzhou Salt Field. After accepting the order, Chen Da entered Wuzhou and settled in the present-day Yangdi, using the name Yangdi, which was the former capital of the Yingchuan clan of the Chen family. Huishan Temple was originally built during the Ming Dynasty. Since Yangdi was settled early and had a rich cultural history, this temple is an ancient temple. The temple enshrines the Buddha Pu'an and the King of Gold as the local deities, and mainly worships the Lord Guan, the Great Physician, the Heavenly Mother, the Six Clan Lords, the Lord Li, the Lords Qiu, Xing, and Su, the Civil Judge, the Local Deity, and the Buddha Avalokitesvara. The temple was recently completed in the 97th year of the Republic of China. On the right side in front of the temple is the Cheng Zhen Enrui Pavilion, and there is a Fengshiye (wind lion) on the left front and the right back, which is the religious center of the Yangdi residents. Couplets: Main Gate Couplet: The three teachings of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism are unified; the three realms of heaven, earth, and people share the same springtime. Side Couplet: Pu's blessing and protection extend far and wide; the temple's grace spreads long and deep. Window Side Couplet: A clear heart is as still as water; a peaceful mind is as calm as a mountain. Column Couplet One: The rain of Dharma nourishes the grass, trees, mountains, and rivers, bringing forth beauty; the benevolent clouds of compassion spread across the western lands, benefiting the scholars, farmers, artisans, and merchants. Column Couplet Two: Ten thousand households bask in the spring breeze for the son's longevity; ten thousand doors enjoy the bright moon for the people's reunion. Column Couplet Three: The dignity of literature and martial arts is worshipped for a thousand years; the loyalty and integrity of deeds are revered for eternity.
