The Taiwan Flower Brick Museum has recently become a must-visit attraction for travelers to Chiayi City. It is a rare museum in the world that focuses on flower bricks, with a collection of 1,500 various types of Taiwanese flower bricks. Flower bricks, which have played a crucial role in Taiwan's architectural development, have long been used by wealthy merchants and families to adorn their homes and showcase their wealth. The museum has spent over 20 years rescuing, restoring, and preserving over 4,000 century-old flower bricks, showcasing Taiwan's flower brick architectural art from 1915 to 1935.
In recent years, the Taiwan Flower Brick Museum has gained international attention. A team of Taiwanese craftsmen was commissioned by SPAWORLD, a well-known Japanese spa operator in Osaka, to design and create 5,500 flower bricks to build a flower brick space. Japan's NHK TV station aired a special report on the Taiwan Flower Brick Museum and the import of flower brick products to Japan. Sulwhasoo, a top Korean skincare brand, launched a limited-edition skincare product featuring Taiwanese flower bricks. The museum's products were also selected by the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as official diplomatic gifts.
The museum is filled with world-class precious flower brick culture, making it a worthwhile visit. (Photos provided by the Taiwan Flower Brick Museum)
