Jiugong Wharf is the only port for accessing Xiaojinmen. From here, taking a ferry to Shui Tou Wharf on Datjinmen is also the only way for the people of Xiaojinmen to go outside. In other words, when coming from Jinmen Island to Xiaojinmen, the first thing you see is Jiugong Wharf. Jiugong Wharf is a simple and modest port, different from the busy and prosperous other seaports. As soon as you get off the ferry, you can feel the simplicity and sincerity of Xiaojinmen. There is a landmark of Xiaojinmen, the "Fengji" (wind chicken), near Jiugong Wharf, as well as a pavilion with traditional Minnan architectural style. The people of Xiaojinmen use concrete sculptures of white chickens placed on the roofs of temples or residential houses to ward off evil and wind evil spirits, which has now become a special landscape of Xiaojinmen. Jiugong Wharf is a transportation hub located in the "Jinlie Waterway" between Datjinmen's Shuitou Wharf and Xiaojinmen. During the intense artillery battles between the two sides in the past, Jiugong Wharf undertook many transportation and supply missions. Jiugong Wharf was originally built in 1974 (the 63rd year of the Republic of China), and was expanded in 1986 (the 75th year of the Republic of China). The wharf is 40.5 meters long and 7 meters wide, belonging to a pile-dock, and has a floating gangway. In order to facilitate passengers and cargo transportation, the wharf is currently undergoing expansion and extension. Passenger ships traveling between Jinmen Island and Xiaojinmen depart every half hour, and the journey takes about 15 minutes. Motorcycles can also be taken on board, which is convenient for self-guided travelers to visit Xiaojinmen. The Jinmen County Government has launched two electric vehicle tour routes on Xiaojinmen. Through low-speed, low-carbon, and noiseless electric vehicles, tourists can deeply experience the local customs of Xiaojinmen. There are two routes, north and south, each tour lasts about 2.5 hours. Travelers who are interested can make a reservation at the Jiugong Wharf Tourism Service Center.
