Taipei Beer Factory (formerly Jianguo Beer Factory)

台北市中山區八德路2段85號
Is the rice still green? The Taiwan beer is still green! This is a very famous advertisement. The Taiwan-flavored Taiwan Beer Brewery, which is the Taipei Beer Factory, was formerly the "Takasago Beer Co., Ltd." during the Japanese colonial period. It was established in 1919 (the 8th year of the Taisho era) and was the only beer manufacturing factory in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period, as well as a famous beer factory in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
After the restoration of Taiwan, it was taken over by the Taiwan Provincial Monopoly Bureau. Two years later, the Bureau was renamed the Taiwan Provincial Tobacco and Alcohol Monopoly Bureau, and the brewery was renamed "Taipei Beer Company," "Taipei Second Brewery." In 1975, it was officially renamed "Jianguo Beer Factory," and has now been in existence for nearly 90 years, making it the best witness to the development of Taiwan's industry, culture, and the evolution of the brewing industry.

The Jianguo Beer Factory has great historical value. The brewing tools and factory buildings within the factory are like a detailed living history. Currently, it is taken over by the Taipei City Urban Development Bureau, which plans to transform the brewery into a beer cultural park, integrating new elements such as catering, entertainment, culture, and tourism, allowing the public to experience the fun of making beer.

In 2007, the Taiwan Tobacco and Alcohol Corporation renamed "Jianguo Beer Factory" to "Taipei Beer Cultural Park," confirming the new direction of combining industry with culture.
