Cheng Ji Vietnamese Noodle Shop was established in 1980, founded by Vietnamese overseas Chinese couple Du Shi. In the early days, it was operated as a noodle stall.
The menu mainly features Vietnamese-style rice noodles, clear stewed beef rice noodles, and fresh beef rice noodles, along with side dishes. Due to the use of genuine ingredients and unique flavor, it has won the love of customers. Cheng Ji's authentic signature Vietnamese-style rice noodle series includes clear stewed, fresh beef rice noodles, as well as rice noodles with satay, curry, and dry sauce flavors, representing the traditional southern tropical flavors. This has made it well-known among food connoisseurs, attracting diners from the scent.
The store at No. 1, Lane 6, Yongkang Street has stood for thirty years. Due to word-of-mouth from customers and tourists coming for the reputation, the Du couple's business has become increasingly better. Therefore, they opened the first store at No. 1, Lane 6, Yongkang Street, providing customers with a better dining environment.
Inheriting the authentic Vietnamese taste and insisting on selecting fresh ingredients is the main key for Cheng Ji to stand for more than thirty years. The second generation of Cheng Ji, classic flavor innovation inheritance: the second generation, who returned from studying in the UK, majored in hotel management. In order to ensure the long-term operation of Cheng Ji, they invested in establishing a central kitchen. The parents are responsible for menu development, while the second generation is in charge of operation and management. In 2008, they won the second place in the International Group of the Taipei City Beef Noodle Festival with their Vietnamese beef noodles.
