To reach Haeyangsa, one must first pass through an arch-shaped stone gate, which serves as an entrance, and is called "Shimen Guan," one of the twelve wonders of Taewu Mountain. Shimen Guan is constructed with thick, neatly arranged granite, and has an inverted eaves roof. The four corners of the roof have slightly raised edges, giving it a light and elegant beauty. Above the horizontal board is the inscription "Hai Shan Di Yi" (First under the Sea and Mountain) written by Lu Ruoteng, a loyal minister of the Ming Dynasty. It is now listed as a county-level cultural relic.
