"Environmental Park Low Carbon Education Center" is the first exhibition hall in Kinmen that combines environmental education and low carbon issues, and presents them through interactive experiences. The exhibition hall is located next to the large bus parking lot of Shangyi Airport. It is a great place for people of all ages to come together and explore the low carbon journey in Kinmen from different perspectives.
Facilities inside the exhibition hall: Environmental Park Interpretation Area: Introduces the past, present and future of the environmental park, and explains the history of the excavation of Kinmen's clay. Circular Theater: It has 40 seats and plays the circular micro-film "Grandma's Dreams", filmed using panoramic techniques. The film is shown five times a day at 10:00, 11:00, 14:00, 15:00, and 16:00. Low Carbon Exploration Area: Through interactive experiences, it guides visitors to understand carbon footprint, water resources, energy types, green buildings, resource recycling, and the achievements of Kinmen's promotion of a low carbon island.
Facilities outside the exhibition hall: Green Roof / Green Hedge: The former is located above the circular theater, being the first green roof in Kinmen using the thin-layer greening method, while the latter is located on the side of the exhibition hall. Both are mainly for the heat insulation and cooling effect of the exhibition hall. Renewable Energy Facilities: 7.5 kW solar photovoltaic panels, 3 kW wind turbines are installed on the rooftop, and energy storage batteries are also added, making full use of renewable energy.
