The Xiagang Yurou Lu offers various mutton dishes, including red-braised mutton and angelica-flavored mutton hot pot, various mutton stir-fries, noodle soups, and rice dishes. The signature dishes that food lovers love to order include stir-fried bone marrow, grilled mutton skewers, and sesame oil mutton testicles.

The red-braised mutton hot pot is made by long-simmering more than 20 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines, and is called the "soup of life." It is paired with pork belly cut into pieces with skin, and each piece of meat has gone through the five decades' traditional techniques of "scalding, frying, stewing, stir-frying, and braising" by a master chef, which locks the meat juices inside the meat pieces. Therefore, the longer the soup is cooked, the more the meat juices and essence blend with the soup, and the taste of the soup will change accordingly.

As a third-generation family-owned restaurant, even the side dishes are carefully made. The Thai-style YangtaiTai uses premium lamb slices, which are blanched in boiling water and then placed on a bed of raw onions, followed by the addition of the blanched lamb slices, and then topped with a specially made Thai-style sauce. Before serving, it is sprinkled with sesame seeds and coriander to enhance the aroma and provide a visual accent, making it a dish worth savoring again and again.
